Safe Withdrawal Management
Detox is the process of clearing substances from the body under medical supervision. At our facility, this typically takes 3 to 7 days, depending on the substance and individual needs. Our on-site medical team monitors your health around the clock to keep you safe and comfortable.
Withdrawal can be uncomfortable and, in some cases, dangerous. That is why our treatment center provides 24/7 nursing care and physician oversight throughout your entire detox stay.
Substances We Treat
Our medical detox program at KAH Helpline addresses withdrawal from all major substances of concern:
Alcohol
Medically managed alcohol withdrawal with seizure prevention protocols and vital sign monitoring.
Opioids & Heroin
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) using evidence-based protocols for opioid and heroin withdrawal relief.
Fentanyl
Specialized fentanyl detox protocols addressing the unique challenges of synthetic opioid withdrawal.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Outpatient Treatment Programs
Flexible levels of care at our Los Angeles facility that allow you to continue treatment while living at home.
Step-Down Care for Lasting Recovery
Our outpatient programs provide structured treatment at our facility while allowing clients to return home each evening. This approach helps you practice new skills in real-world settings while maintaining clinical support from our on-site team.
Whether stepping down from residential care or beginning treatment at a lower intensity, our campus offers three levels of outpatient programming to meet you where you are.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our PHP provides the highest level of outpatient care. Clients attend programming at our treatment center 5 to 6 days per week for 2 to 4 weeks. PHP includes individual therapy, group sessions, psychiatric services, and medication management. This program is ideal for individuals who need intensive clinical support but do not require 24-hour supervision.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our IOP runs for 8 to 12 weeks, with sessions at our facility 3 to 5 days per week. Clients participate in group therapy, individual counseling, relapse prevention education, and skill-building workshops. IOP allows you to maintain work, school, or family responsibilities while receiving consistent treatment at our campus.
Standard Outpatient & Aftercare
Our standard outpatient program meets 1 to 2 days per week at our facility and is designed for individuals who have completed a higher level of care. Sessions focus on relapse prevention, ongoing counseling, and alumni support. This program helps maintain the progress you have made and supports your transition to independent living in recovery.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Integrated care for co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions at our Los Angeles facility.
Treating the Whole Person
Many individuals living with substance use disorder also experience a co-occurring mental health condition. At our treatment center, we address both challenges at the same time. Research shows that integrated treatment leads to better outcomes than treating each condition separately.
Our on-site psychiatrists, therapists, and clinical staff work together to create a unified treatment plan that addresses the full picture of your mental and behavioral health.
Conditions We Treat
Our dual diagnosis program at KAH Helpline specializes in treating substance use disorders alongside these common co-occurring mental health conditions:
Depression
Depression and substance use often fuel each other. Our clinical team uses evidence-based therapies including CBT, medication management, and holistic approaches to treat depressive disorders alongside substance use disorder. Clients receive personalized care in our therapy offices to address the roots of both conditions.
Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety disorders frequently co-occur with substance use. At our facility, we use DBT, exposure therapy, and relaxation techniques to help you manage anxiety without turning to substances. Our meditation garden and yoga studio support mindfulness practices that reduce anxiety symptoms.
PTSD & Trauma
Trauma and PTSD are among the most common drivers of substance use. Our trauma-informed care approach creates a safe environment on our campus for processing traumatic experiences. Our therapists are trained in specialized trauma therapies to help you heal from past events while building recovery skills.
Bipolar Disorder
The mood swings of bipolar disorder can make recovery from substance use more challenging. Our psychiatric team provides careful medication management and mood stabilization alongside addiction treatment. Integrated care at our facility ensures both conditions receive equal attention throughout the recovery process.
Our Integrated Approach
At our treatment center in Los Angeles, dual diagnosis care is woven into every level of programming. Whether you are in detox, residential, or outpatient treatment, our team screens for and addresses co-occurring conditions from day one. Treatment includes:
- Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation at admission
- Medication management by board-certified psychiatrists
- Individual therapy targeting both conditions simultaneously
- Specialized group sessions for dual diagnosis
- Trauma-informed care throughout all programs
- Aftercare planning that addresses ongoing mental health needs
